Scholarship

These scholarships were established by the bowling associations in 1987 in memory of Wallace E. Matthew who was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bay City BA for more than 40 years and served as secretary for 35 years.
Criteria: Resident of Bay, Arenac or Tuscola county.
Applicant must be a senior in high school and accepted as a full time student at an accredited college or university. The applying student must be:
a current member of the Bay Area USBC Association, or
a member of the Bay Area USBC Association for at least two or the last four
seasons, or the child of a member of the Bay Area USBC Association or
a member of their high school bowling team for at least two years.
Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Preference will be given in the following order: current USBC members who are children of members followed by current members, high school bowlers and children of current members.
